Vera Rubin Symposium

GALAXIES: MIND OVER MATTER

A Celebratory Symposium for Vera Rubin

January 10-11, 2002

Carnegie Institution of Washington

1530 P Street, NW, Washington, DC

The headquarters of the Carnegie Institution of Washington are located at 1530 P Street, Northwest (corner of 16th and P Streets - entrance on P Street) in downtown Washington, DC. They are within easy walking distance (about 3 blocks) from the Metro station at Dupont Circle (red line). Since street parking in this area is very difficult to find, participants are encouraged to arrive by foot from the Metro station or by taxi.

There are two exits from the Dupont Circle Metro station. Take the "Dupont Circle" exit and NOT the "Q Street" exit. Follow the Circle counter-clockwise and turn right on P Street. Go due east three blocks. The Carnegie Institution is immediately across Sixteenth Street, on the right.

Participants coming from the 199th Meeting of the American Astronomical Society at The Washington Hilton at 1919 Connecticut Avenue, NW, can make the 4 block walk to the Metro station at Dupont Circle and then proceed from there as described above.
